About Us
Our team is led by Marc Sofer, a seasoned founder and investor dedicated to catalysing startup growth and innovation through funding, strategy and network. He is experienced in various asset classes and establishing, developing and exiting businesses over a 20+ year career in the United Kingdom, Australia and the Caribbean. Marc is Chair of the award-winning Byron Bay Angels, a Unit Writer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Southern Cross University, and Board Advisor to a number of startups and scaleups. Actively involved in the venture ecosystem, Marc is a Startmate First Believer and Airtree Explorer, working with some of the largest and most succesful venture capital funds in the country.
He co-founded Kingsgate Capital, a UK investment company, and founded the MSSEC Group, managing investments since 2005. Marc maintains a Non-Executive Director role in both organisations.
Voluntary roles include Investment Committee Chair at The Community Well, Director and Investment Committee member at the NRCF, and mentor at Sourdough Business Pathways.
Marc studied Venture Finance under DP World Professor of Entrepreneurship Thomas Hellmann at Oxford University and has gained various accolades during his career, including the ‘Britain’s Young Business Leader’ award.
